i have been a dolphins fan my whole life. does anybody think that they won't suck and have a chance to make the playoffs?

consider this......

before ricky left, and for the last few seasons, they were a team considered by many to have a shot at the superbowl. ricky is back and what has changed? they still have a pretty good defense, which wins championships by the way, and they got rid of the worst coach in football in dave wannestadt. nick saben is a proven winner. i think qb is thier only question, and it is a big one.

the dolphins probably won't make the playoffs this year, but they are not as far away or as bad as most people think. they will upset some people this year. just don't be shocked if they give teams fits all year long.

what do you guys think about this? i would like to know.

Saban isn't a proven upgrade on idiot Wannestedt yet... He probably will with time, but he's completely unproven.

Ricky is aging. Ricky still doesn't care about football. Ricky has 7 million very good reasons to reinstate himself in the NFL. And after this year he's gone.

On offense, AJ Feeley is still the QB. Ronnie Brown is going to be toting the rock, not Ricky most of the time. Offensive line is still horrible. Many good weapons to throw the ball to, but no one to get them the ball.

The defense is incredibly old now. Madison doesn't have Surtain anymore, Zach Thomas is a shell of his former self, and Jason Taylor is slowing down considerably. I think this team is still in big trouble and is still undoubtably the worst team in the division. Some upsets this year? Sure, why not... But this team won't be .500 and has no shot of the postseason.

Sorry this couldn't be more uplifting to you jillmark

Still dont think they can get to the playoffs, but I think they wil surprsise some teams. They still have holes in the offensive line and are very weak at the QB position. Also do not love their receivers. Defensive backfield a problem as well. With all this being said, I still think that they improve from their 4-12 mark last season. Personally I played over 5 wins. Think they have a chance to get to 7-9 and maybe even 8-8 if they get some luck along the way.

Miami Dolphins

Jillmark,

Lamar Gordon will carry the Dolphins to a Super Bowl victory...how's that?

Well, I'm not an expert, nonetheless, I am pulling for the Dolphins, too, because Gordon attended the same high school as I, thus, I hope that he and the Dolphins do well.

Also, Arizona Cardinals third-stringer, John Navarre went to my high school. Gordon and Navarre are two years apart, and played together on the same high school team. I wonder how many NFLers have played on the same high school team. Might anyone know?

With Gus Frerotte as their QB, they have NO CHANCE...what a bad move there.

i am not excited about Gus Frerotte as their qb. i think feeley might be better. i still wish they would have kept jay fiedler, he was the best of the three.

Although the DOlphins have some talent on offense, virtually every one of them is a distraction...Ricky, Boston, McMichael. On top of that, you have 2 QBs who don't deserve to be in the NFL, much less starting. The Defense is not what it was 3 years ago although it is still respectable. And to top it all off, the 3 other teams in the division are all pretty damn good. I would say 6-10 at best, more likely 5-11.

if they even had a "decent" QB, they could be a playoff team. I'm gonna pay close attention to how or if this OL improves. Feeley could be decnt if he haves time to throw the ball, which he didn't last season.

Defense is still good, but getting older.

Looks like a 5-11 team on the surface.
